What is prompting?

Prompting in ABA therapy refers to providing assistance or cues to encourage your child to use specific skills to complete tasks. Prompting your child encourages them to perform a task until they learn how and when to do it on their own. The ultimate goal is for your child to learn how to perform the skill independently in the appropriate situations without needing to be prompted (Applied Behavioral Analysis EDU, 2021). In treatment and learning at home, it is most ideal to use the least intrusive form of prompting to focus teaching on your child’s independence. In order to avoid prompt dependency, we encourage you to use the least intrusive prompting and positive reinforcement when your child engages in tasks independently. Read more

Patriot’s Day, 9/11/21

On September 11, 2021, the 20th anniversary of Patriot Day, gives all of us time to reflect on the devastating terror attacks that took nearly 3,000 lives. We commemorate those who we lost and give thanks to the brave first responders who put their lives on the line. Take a moment today to consider what we stand for as a nation and how we can work together to make the world a better place for all. The bravery of American citizens and uniformed personnel in the face of one of the world’s most terrible terrorist attacks is remembered on National Day of Service and Remembrance on September 11th each year.
